My School Curriculum

Hello! I haven’t posted on here in a WAY long time. I plan on posting a lot more this fall.

I took some pictures of my school curriculum, and I am gonna give you guys a ‘tour’ through my school work.

Who is God?

I have a Bible class every Thursday (not including the daily devotional I do every day before I start school) in which I learn more about God. There are fun activities involved in the lesson. I do sections of the labeled lesson every week. This week I am learning about the parable of wise man who built his house on a strong foundation and the foolish man who built his house on a sandy hill.

Teaching Textbooks: Algebra 1

I really like my math book, because it explains how to solve the math problems really well and has a lecture (on CD)  for each lesson which tells step by step how to solve the example problem.

Exploring Creation through Anatomy and Physiology

This fall I am studying anatomy, which I have a fond interest in. What I love about this textbook, is that it shows how amazing God is and how He created our bodies exactly how it is for a reason.

Mystery of History (I forgot to include this in the picture above)

This is my History book, which follows some events in the Bible, which we get to study the lifestyle and history of it. So far I have read about Creation, Adam and Eve, and Tubal-Cain and Jubal.  There are activities for each lesson which vary from an artistic craft, to writing a report about the lesson. Another thing I really like, is the activities are separated into three groups, Younger Students, Middle Students, and Older Students. What section of the activity you should do, depends on what grade you are.

Pentime

My mom wants me to still practice cursive regularly, even though they aren’t teaching it anymore in some schools. I do this every Wednesday, and I am really enjoying it.

Perplexors

In this book, there are different logic puzzles to keep the student’s brain nice and sharp. The puzzles are actually very entertaining.

Vocabulary From Classical Roots

My mom has me write down the Challenge words, Familiar words, and regular words on note cards, so I can go back and review the words later on. I enjoy looking up the Challenge words and Familiar words in the dictionary.

Let me know if you do any of these or would like to share with me what you do. I would love to hear about it!

Shrimp have taken over Jamaa!

Hey guys its Kiana! So recently I went on Animal Jam and went to a famous jammer’s den ( many of you may know him as Aparri). When I went into his den I had noticed a few non-member wolves dancing in the corner saying in the chat “SHRIMP NATION” and “WE SHALL TAKE OVER JAMAA”. So I decided to join them… BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! We went to Jamaa Township and ran around telling people to join the “Shrimp Nation”. Soon enough many people joined us and turned their animals pink , like shrimp, and this happened:

All in all, the shrimp nation shall take over… MUHAHAHA! Stay tuned for more updates on the shrimp army 😉 – Kiana

Reading Corner: Walk Two Moons

Hi! This is the second post for Reading Corner. I am going to review Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech. I highly recommend this book for those of you who like adventure books. This book is about Sal Tree Hiddle. The book takes us through the trip that changed her life. Throughout the trip she takes with her grandparents, she shares the story of Phoebe Winterbottom. Inside Phoebe’s story is Sal’s. Sal must complete the journey to Idaho as a last resort to bring her family back together again. This story is heartwarming and an awesome read!! I fell in love with this book the first time I read it and think you will too!!! If you have read this book tell me your opinion in the comments.

Reading Corner: Black Beauty

Today I am posting the first Reading Corner. This is where I will be doing my book reviews. Today’s review is on Black Beauty. I had to read this book for school and it has turned out to be a beautiful story. It is about the life of a horse who has gone through many homes and has been abused over the years. Black Beauty makes friends in every home and pushes through no matter the pain he endures. Throughout  this book, it teaches the lesson to treat animals as you would want to be treated. I personally enjoy this book and think you will too!!! If you do read this book, let me know in the comments how you liked it and what your favorite part was!!!
